Candle Safety

Failure to follow instructions could result in fire hazard, injury, or smoke damage.  Keep wax free of matches, wick trimmings, or other flammable materials.  Keep wick centered and trimmed to 1/4 inch to prevent smoking and soot build-up on container or other items.  Burn only on stable, heat resistant surface no longer than 4 hours at a time.  Keep out of drafts.  Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains in bottom.  Do not move candle while burning or if wax is hot.  Keep out of reach of children and pets.  Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Please read all packaging on Green Lady Creations products and follow all safety instructions.

Natural Characteristics of Soy

A lower melt point means that soy candles can melt if exposed to direct heat and "sweating" (beads on top of candle) can form.  This usually goes away once candle has had a chance to adjust to the temperature change, or after initial burn.  Please don't leave candle in direct sun....it will melt.

Soy wax can "Bloom" or appear to have a frosted snowflake pattern.  This is caused by fluctuations in temperatures.  We use a patent pending time consuming procedure to help minimize this effect in our candles, but sometimes extreme temperatures can cause our soy candles to "bloom".  We do not use any special additives or paraffin wax to help minimize this effect, we like our Candle Wax just the way it is.  This frosting or "Bloom" does not in any way affect the burn or quality of the candle.

Candles can develop "wet spots", or areas along the sides of the glass that have pulled away slightly.  This is also due to temperature changes causing expansion and contraction of the wax.

Soy wax cleans up easily with soap and hot water if spilled, just remember it's still a wax so it will harden back up when it cools so it should not be poured down the drain.  To re-use a candle jar (which we highly reccommend here at GLC) wash it in a bucket of hot water with dish soap and dump dirty water outside.  For those of you who are local, you may recycle your jars back to me at GLC.

Candles that have been colored can fade if exposed to direct sun and UV lights.  Colors also change when they have been burned.

These characteristics are naturally occuring and in no way affect the quality of the product.
